Here at A Matter Of Code, we require personal data in order to provide services to you as a client. This policy is intended to set out what data we collect, how we use & store it, how to exercise your rights and how to get in touch if you have any further queries.
Our privacy policy and procedures are developed and updated to ensure lawful use as set out by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018.

- to provide you with information about our services and products & services, including any updates or changes to our services and products & services;

- to monitor, enhance and improve our services which may contain personal information linked to the services you as a client are offering or the services we offer to you

3. Who will you share my data with?
With expressed consent, we may share your data with subsidiaries & sub-contractors in order to provide our services in an efficient, cost-effective manner, administration, management and ongoing improvement of our services.
We may work with other companies to carry out works and shall communicate as such to you. Some of our services are provided by external companies with whom we regularly work with to provide design, development and hosting services.
We may be required to share your data with subsidiaries for purposes such as auditing, legal/financial advisory and suppliers/business partners.
Your data may be shared with legal or government bodies in accordance to this policy if mandated by law or in the event of legal protection of our legitimate interests.
Should A Matter Of Code be sold or merged with another business, you shall receive communications expressing such, and your data will be disclosed to advisory bodies and shall be forwarded to the new owners of the business.
No information will be shared with third-parties for any marketing or promotional purposes without express consent. We may use third-party processors to process your information on our behalf, for example where we provide web services such as:

4. How long will you keep my personal data?
We will not hold your data personal data for any purpose for longer than necessary to provide ongoing services, and will only retain personal information that is necessary for this purpose. We are obligated by law to retain certain information for as long as reasonably necessary to meet regulations, enforce our own terms & conditions, and resolve disputes that may arise.
As long as you are a customer, we will hold your information for as long as set out in a contractual relationship you have with us, and for no longer than 24 months after a contract lapses unless otherwise stated.
If you are a prospective customer and you have given express consent to us contacting you, we will retain your data while you interact with us, or for 12 months following the last contact.
We may retain your data for a short period following the specified retention period for review & deletion purposes.
5. Where will my data be stored?
Any data held by us will be stored securely within the UK & EEA (European Economic Area).
Data may be processes outside of the UK & EEA where necessary, such as where we use outside companies to provide our services to you. Where applicable, the data processor's own privacy policy will be in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and/or General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
6. What are my rights with regards to my data?
We will uphold the rights provided to you as a business or individual under UK GDPR.
You have the right to request that we do not process your data for marketing or promotional purposes.
You may withdraw consent for us to hold and process your data at any time.
You may request an update of any data held on you where it is inaccurate in order to make it correct or supplement it.
We may appropriately charge for a request for access in accordance with applicable law. We will aim to respond to any requests for information promptly, and within the legally required time (30 days at time of writing).

7. More information on the handling of data
A Matter Of Code Ltd (registered in England & Wales, Company No. 15613838) with registered address 82A, James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE is the data controller for your data, and any other contractors, suppliers or partners that are a contracting party for the purpose of providing or receiving services.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes to this policy by email.
